The Water Paradigm Shift

water

I recently had my mind completely blown by an interview I heard with a guy named Daniel Vitalis all about the reason why tap water AND bottled water are just not good enough anymore. Sounds depressing but it was actually completely thrilling!!!! I am like JAZZED  ( insert jazz hands here) by the subject now. Here is a list of some of the top take aways I got from this interview —

1. Some of the water piping infrastructure of the United States dates back to the Lincoln era (!?!?!?). The pipes for clean water and waste water run along side by side. Because the pipes are so old, there is cross contamination. This is the reason for all the chlorine.

2. In some places, the waste water is treated and made into clean drinking water again. They clean it really well but there is still drug residues from everyones pee in the water, that you are now consuming. Beyond disgusting, we also don’t know yet how this is affecting our health.

3. When we eat food , a whole digestive process happens that turns that food into fuel for our bodies. Good food is very important, obviously. Now when we drink water, within minutes that water becomes a part of our blood. Whatever is in that water we drink is almost immediately circulating through every part of us. Consuming nasty (chlorinated, flouridated..) water means it is harder the for body to make healthy blood. Healthy water… healthy blood.

4. Water dissolves everything is comes into contact with. Water in its purest, clinical state is only H2O , but in reality water has many things absorbed into it, because thats what water does. Healthy water has a balance of minerals that our bodies need. When water is packaged in plastic, the water also has plastic residues in the water, especially if the water bottle has been exposed to sunlight, which helps to breakdown the plastic molecules even quicker. I don’t think I need to explain to you why ‘plastic tea’ is a bad idea.

5. When we drink reverse osmosis water, it is a very pure H2O, which sounds nice in theory, but when we consume stripped down water, that water goes into the body and naturally wants to absorb minerals into itself. When we consume reverse osmosis water for an extended amount of time, we can actually deplete our bodies of crucial minerals!

6. Water is our birthright. Water comes from the earth and goes back to the earth. Much of the surface water of the earth has been contaminated by chemical pollutants. When we drink fresh spring water we are drinking the living vibration of the earth , free from pollution because it has been under the earth for sometimes thousands of years.

7 Back in the olden days, we were taught that we needed a middle man between us and God. We needed the preacher to be our intermediary. Now we have been taught to believe that we need to buy our water from a middle man. We buy our water from the city (through taxes) and we buy our water from the store. Most of us never even consider that we could get our water — at least some of it — directly from the earth herself, and that it would be beneficial to our health to do so!

This is only some of the paradigm shifting points that are raised in this podcast. I highly recommend you tune in for a very insightful 1.5 hours with Mr Vitalis interviewed by Josh and Kate from the very helpful and inspiring website Extreme Health Radio dot com. Also check out FindaSpring.com  and Surthrival.com !

Next up on this subject I’ll share me and my husband’s adventures in spring water gathering and appreciating the living qualities of water! It takes some effort but it is fun and delicious..

Love!

Real Old Fashioned Probiotic Pickles

home made pickles

A couple of years ago I started reading about people making home made raw pickles and sauerkraut. It seemed really delicious but it scared me so I put it off for a while. Then we got up our courage to try it and were completely blown away with the results. I became a probiotic pickle evangelist overnight! I was telling everyone about this revelation. It is actually EASY and exceptionally delicious. Also it is CHEAP! Have you priced out raw artisanal probiotic pickles at your local health food store lately? Crazy pricey. Which is ridiculous because at one time not long ago this was just a normal way to make pickles and not rare or expensive. I find it also interesting to note that almost every traditional culture has some kind of fermented vegetable pickles in their daily cuisine . Korean kimchi, Japanese tsukemono, European Sauerkraut etc.

Anyways! I’m here to inspire you to try it! You are going to want to find pickling cucumbers (it’s a particular kind, ask for them)  at your local farmers market. If you don’t have a farmers market (or garden!) then you really just want to get the freshest veggies you can find. I would recommend using carrots (get the “tops on” kind ) and onions or green beans to start. I have tried pickling a variety of veggies and it is so fun to experiment. I am going to link below to some sites that will be able to help you better than me as far as recipes and proportions go but I’d like to go over a few things I found to be extra important.

First of all – make sure your jars are SUPER clean. Break out the bleach and sanitize those mofos. You will read recipes that just call for water and salt.  My recommendation is to add a few capsules of your fav probiotic supplement to the mixture before you pour it into the jars. Just open the caps and sprinkle it in. You will be giving the good bacteria a head start with the probiotics. You can get extra fancy and pour the probiotic powder into a small bowl with slightly warm water and some sugar / honey (tiny bit) to wake the good guys up before you add that mixture to your larger brine. I almost never do that and it works out fine though. Make sure your water is super clean stuff too – ie. purified / distilled / spring water etc.  Chlorine and other nasties will fight the good bacteria we are looking to cultivate here. Lastly, be sure to use really good salt – real sea salt, pink Himalayan salt, etc .

Here are my go to blogs for fermentation inspiration!

Vibrational Dressing : An Introduction

There is a way to dress that expresses who you really are and can bring you more of the kind of energy you are looking for. I call this Vibrational Dressing, but it could also be called bana. Bana is a term that comes to us from the Sikh religion, it’s a form of dressing which has specific energetic effects. Bana can be all white clothes with a turban on top and bana can be all the colors of the rainbow with gold shoes and a flower in your hair. Bana can be a sweatshirt and jeans. Bana is an expression of YOU. My teacher Harijiwan explains bana very well –and I’m paraphrasing here – ” your clothing is an expression of your consciousness” .  This seems like the most obvious yet profound thought to me. We grow up being taught to follow trends and fit into “uniforms” . We aren’t usually taught to view getting dressed as a conscious act of self expression that has very specific effect on our energy field and our reality.

We’ll explore these concepts in a forthcoming series of posts on this subject. Until then I encourage you to begin to really pay attention to the often routine act of getting dressed. Why are you picking that shirt, those pants, that jacket? Are they expressing how you feel or are you following a subconscious program? How do you feel when you wear them? Do you notice feeling different when you wear bright colors as opposed to all black? How do you feel when you wear your favorite outfit? You can learn how to dress to feel that way all the time and I am going to teach you how.

Some subjects we will explore in future posts related to this topic are:

Vibrational Dressing for Energy : the Technique, Dressing the chakras, Color therapy , How clothing shapes your auric field , Traditional dress through the ages, Modern fashion as control system, Sikh clothing technology , All about wearing white , Why people wear turbans , Fabrics are energy conductors : natural fibers vs synthetic .. and much much more!

Stay tuned.
